The “HAT TYPE” Post Top decorative luminaire range is ideal for use in public areas, providing a super-efficient light distribution. The elegant and timeless attractive design provides a stylish appeal and image of quality and sophistication. Available in pole top mount and wall bracket mount applications in a range of shapes, sizes, colours and diffuser options to cater for every application.
MANUFACTURING DATA
LUMINAIRE BODY
The luminaire base is manufactured from precision die cast aluminium and is suitable for mounting onto a 76mm diameter spigot. The top “hat” section is manufactured from high grade corrosion resistant spun aluminium. Only stainless steel fasteners are used and the aluminium sections are powder coated with SABS quality exterior powder coating in a wide range of colours. The internal brackets are also made from corrosion resistant aluminium.
DIFFUSER / LENSES
The diffuser/lens is thermoformed from the highest quality ultra-high-impact acrylic providing the optimum in weathering resistance. The lenses are available in three different shape-styles and three different light diffusion options: prismatic, opal, or clear. For the clear lens an anti-glare baffle is normally used. The diffuser is fixed to the base with an aluminum clamp ring. The efficient sealing on the base as well as on the “hat lid” provides an extremely well sealed luminaire with an IP66 ingress protection rating against dust and water. This very high I.P. rating has been tested and verified by the S.A.B.S..
CONTROL GEAR / ELECTRICAL
Only SABS & CE approved control gear and Teflon insulated wiring is used. The control gear is housed on a custom designed bracket integrally mounted inside the luminaire on the base casting. Maintenance if required is extremely simple and easy allowing modular replacements.
LAMPS & PHOTOMETRICS
A wide range of lamp type options (corresponding to control gear) are available (see technical data table above). An asymmetrical reflector (180 degrees) is also available as an optional extra, as specified by the Tshwane Metropolitan Council and some other councils.
