Dome Art

ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS

GENERAL INFORMATION

The “DOME ART” Bell type luminaire range is ideal for use in public areas, providing a very good and efficient light distribution. The elegant design with domed, curved lines provide a pleasing aesthetic appeal. Due to the semi cut-off light distribution design of this luminaire, upward light pollution is eliminated and the beneficial downward light output is fully utilised. An additional benefit is that unwanted horizontal glare is eliminated. Available in pole top, wall bracket mount or pendant applications.

MANUFACTURING DATA

LUMINAIRE BODY

The entire luminaire body, including the two piece top dome and the flaired domed canopy, are manufactured from grade 1200 corrosion resistant aluminum. The top section is manufactured as a two piece double wall unit with a total thickness of more than 3mm, thereby providing a very rigid supporting structure. The luminaire is powder coated to SABS standards available in a wide range of colours.

REFLECTOR

The aluminium reflector is specially designed to optimally reflect the light downwards for the required most efficient light distribution & light photometric qualities.

DIFFUSER / LENSES

The diffuser is thermoformed from the highest quality cast acrylic with superior weathering resistance properties. The lens is available in two shapes, a semi-sphere or teardrop shape. The diffuser is fixed to the reflector with two special knurled hand nuts for ease of lamp maintenance. The lenses are sealed onto the reflector flange by means of a sealing gasket cord. The lenses are available in opal, clear or prismatic depending on the type of appeal and light diffusion required.

SUPPORTING SPIGOT

The supporting spigot is a specially designed die cast aluminium unit with three grub screw aligning adjustments.

CONTROL GEAR / ELECTRICAL

Only SABS & CE approved control gear and Teflon insulated wiring is used. The control gear is mounted integrally in the top section and all wiring interfaces to the reflector dish are done through rubber sealing grommets. This protects the wire against damage and seals the reflector dish. The electrical connection during installation is made by means of a three way connector block at the luminaire cast aluminium supporting spigot.

LAMPS & PHOTOMETRICS

A wide range of lamp type options are available (refer to table above). Available in symmetrical & asymmetrical configurations.
